Many of the town's businesses had dressed their windows for the occasion and staff joined in the fun by donning pink and purple costumes.
Some of the shoppers got in on the act with shades of lavender, lilac, mauve, plum, violet, magenta and wine.
Megan Sharman from Hair Affair-Beautician in High Street even wore a purple wig.
"I love it. It brings Wauchope together as a community. It's a fun festival," she said.
"I have worked here for six years and this is the first year I've been working on a Thursday and got dressed up and it's great. Sarah did a lovely job with the window too."
Wauchope local Vicky Martin had a stall, as usual.
"I come every year. It's really good. I was here at 6am this morning. You get to see a lot of people you haven't seen for a while," she said.
