A 52-year-old Wauchope man has pleaded not guilty after facing a charge of intentionally sexually touching a child under 10.

He appeared in Port Macquarie Local Court on March 15 to face the charge which is alleged to have occurred at about 9am on March 14 in Cameron Street, Wauchope.
Officers from Mid North Coast Police District were contacted after reports a four-year-old girl had been sexually touched by an unknown man while out shopping with her family.
An investigation was subsequently launched by detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad, with the assistance of Mid North Coast Police District.
Police alleged in court that that the man exposed himself to the young girl before sexually touching her, and then leaving the area.
The man was refused bail and will reappear in Port Macquarie Local Court on May 9.
