Principal Brendan Kiely said the theme of Catholic Schools Week this year, Sown in Rich Soil, suits the richness of their school.
"On any given week our students are privileged to engage in deep and meaningful experiences. This week we delved into traditions of the Catholic Church learning about how the Palms from last year’s Palm Sunday are burned to create the Ashes for Ash Wednesday," said Mr Kiely.
"We learned about Shrove Tuesday and how we eat these before the 40 day fast of Lent. We learnt about Ash Wednesday participating with gusto in Mass and learning that Lent is a time of almsgiving, fasting and prayer.
"We started our almsgiving, donating generously to Project Compassion and we prayed during mediation and sang our hearts out at our student concert," he added.
The principal said families were invited in to see how great the students are at learning in calm spaces, and parents flocked to the stage 2 assembly and stayed for a wonderful parent social and learning session afterwards.
They capped the week off with Saturday Night Children’s Liturgy with a huge turn-out from the school and parish.
