The art festival on April 13, is an initiative from the Conservatorium Mid North Coast and Live2U - Media & Production Services in conjunction with local youth for Youth Week.
The event will be a family friendly, drug and alcohol-free event organised by young people for local youth with a day and night component.
The festival will be a place where alternative music and art is celebrated and Mella Miante said the organising committee is predominantly made up of young people.
"The festival is an opportunity to showcase the talent of young people exploring alternative art and music and also give them the chance to try something different," Ms Miante said.
"At every step of the organising process young people are taking the lead which is exciting to see."
Ms Miante said at the festival there will be lots of hands on opportunities for people to get their hands dirty and learn something new.
"At the Street Artz Fest we will have a 20 metre canvas which will be painted on by graffiti artists along with a busking space and music competition," she said.
"The aim is to have lots of fun and different things going on to capture a diverse range of creative outlets from all genres of music, art, and dance.
"Port Macquarie is known as a place people retire to, however increasingly more and more young people are moving to the area.
"With that in mind, Port Macquarie is lacking the infrastructure for young people to hang out in a safe place and explore art."
Over the course of the day, market stalls will surround the grounds near the Girl Guides Hall and Mid North Coast Conservatorium on Hollingsworth Street and a full schedule of live music will present different street performers between 11am and 5pm.
People are encouraged to bring their own chairs or picnic rugs, to comfortably enjoy the diverse range of entertainment.
Entry cost is by gold coin donation and there will be a selection of fundraising activities and workshops available throughout the day.
Urban art is increasingly popular, particularly with youth and so there will also be a fantastic opportunity to take part in a graffiti/street art workshop, led by respected artist Damon Moroney from Iknograffix.
Other exciting daytime activities on offer include; Drumming Workshops, UV Body Paint/Glitter Station, Tie Dye Art Workshop, Circus skills workshop and fun at the fair carnival style games with prizes and a large variety of food/retail markets.
From day to night, starting at 6pm there will also be a Dance Party with neon body paint and live music for people to enjoy.
"The hall will transform into a 'Neon Dance Party', perfect for showing off that UV body paint," Ms Minate said.
"On the night we will have local Hip Hop group Manic Soul, Holotropik and other local rappers and DJ's playing for everyone.
"We will also have a lip sync competition and rap battles with prizes up for grabs."
The festival is also a fundraiser for the Mid North Coast Conservatorium so they can continue to provide a space for people to express their music.
