It features horse events, cattle, goat and poultry judging, the woodchop, Showgirl comp, pavilion, trade and food stalls, animal nursery, amusement rides, monster trucks, roly poly cars, fireworks and more.
President Neil Coombes said it's great to have the main entertainment on both nights, and he's sure that will be a crowd-pleaser. He says interest is building among entries to the show sections, and that goes on right up until Show day.
"It's looking good for the dry weather we have had, and we want as many people as possible to come and enjoy the Royal of the North. We've made improvements to the Showground, and we always get visitors from near and far, so we get better every year," said Neil.
Wauchope showgirl Madeline Dobson said she's really proud that a great group of girls will be taking part in the junior and senior showgirl competition.
"I have loved my year, and the competition has changed. It's a rural advocacy program, and a leadership role which has developed over the past few years, with exciting opportunities. I am staying on as part of the showgirl committee to push the girls towards bigger and better things. It's very exciting," said Madeline.
