The funding for the three local organisations had been allocated under the under the Federal Coalition Government's Volunteer Grants Program.
"I'd like to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate the local volunteers involved in these there local organisations. They all do a wonderful job for our community and I was delighted to be able to support their funding applications for new equipment to assist the work of their volunteers," Dr Gillespie said.
Rollands Plains Rural Fire Service will receive $5,000 which will be used towards the purchase of new equipment, uniforms and improvements around the station.
The Pappinbarra Progress Association will receive $2,468.40 towards new equipment, including a printer to produce the community newsletter distributed throughout the Hollisdale and Pappinbarra area.
The Riding for the Disabled Association NSW - Wauchope/Port Macquarie Centre,has secured a grant of $2,158 towards transport costs and equipment including a small fridge to keep milk and other perishable items used on riding days and a new barbeque.
The Federal Coalition Government is backing volunteers across Australia through a $20 million Volunteer Grants program.
Grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 to help community organisations for a range of needs, including buying equipment, paying fuel costs, training volunteers or improving their fundraising have been allocated to organisations like Tinonee Cricket Club, Wingham FC and Wingham Brush Public School P&C.
