Well now is your chance to nominate them as part of the annual Mid North Coast Police District Police Officer of the Year awards.
As part of the awards the Rotary Club of Port Macquarie West want community members to nominate officers for the Community Award recognising excellent officers from across the Mid North Coast.
The Mid North Coast Local Area Command includes officers in Port Macquarie, Wauchope, Laurieton, Comboyne, Kempsey, South West Rocks, Gladstone, Bellbrook, Nambucca Heads, Macksville and Bowraville.
All officers working in this Local Area Command are eligible to be nominated for the competition.
Julie Constable, president of the Rotary Club of Port Macquarie West said all community members were encouraged to shine a light on excellent officers.
"The police do an excellent job looking after our communities and rarely get thanked for their service," Ms Constable said.
"There are a number of officers who go above and beyond what their job description is to help those in need and we want to recognise their extraordinary efforts."
Ms Constable said if past winners are any indication there are many worthy recipients across the region.
"Every year we are blown away by the incredible work our officers do to ensure our safety so please I urge you to consider nominating an officer for the 2019 awards."
District commander, superintendent Paul Fehon said the awards were a chance for local officers' work to be recognised.
"We thank the Rotary Club of Port Macquarie West for sponsoring our Police Officer of the Year awards again this year," he said.
"We are pleased to recognise the good work of our Police and I encourage members of the community to nominate officers who have shown outstanding acts of courtesy, understanding, compassion, courage and devotion to duty and the community for the preceding 12 months."
Nominations for the awards close of May 31 before the local winners ceremony on June 12.
