The A grade Wauchope Giants got off to a quick start at Blackbutt Oval on Sunday against the Middle Rock Mariners, adding steadily to a total of 10 runs.

The highlight of the Giants game was Mick Gough missing a Home run by centimetres. The Mariners in reply were kept scoreless for four innings before finding their bats in the 5th and 6th innings, batting in 5 runs.
B Grade Giants v Mariners turned into a very one sided affair. Justin Willingham being the stand out for Giants.
Justin pitched five innings giving up thirteen hits striking out four and walking two. He also had a great game with the bat recording five hits from five times to bat.
Mariners were hitting plenty but just could not convert to runs . Matt Lindsay and Ray Beaucroft best with the bat .

B Grade : Pirates 2 Spartans 8 Giants 21 Mariners 9
All day, the park was bathed in sunshine with lots of excited squeals and laughter from Diamonds filled with happy children as the Juniors got their season off to a great start. Young T Baller was asked if he had fun. His reply: "I hit seven home runs."
Next Sunday 19th May, Juniors warm-up is at 8am Game time 8.30am.
