The six dedicated riders joined with over seventy competitors from as far as Coffs Harbour, Bulahdelah and Dubbo, who flocked to the manning valley for the weekend.

A few days leading up to the event the skies opened up and there were some concerns it could be washed out again as it was last year, but the sun did not stop shining all weekend which provided the perfect weekend to have some fun with their beloved horses and great friends.

Saturday morning competition started at 8am with three events set for the day. Crowd favourite the 6 Bar finished off a great first day of competition.

On Sunday morning they were all back at it at 8am again for a further two events.

Club president Kimberley Tout said it was a fantastic weekend.

"Everyone rode exceptionally well and showed amazing sportsmanship across the whole competition," Ms Tout said.

For two of the riders, Ruby Huggett and Georgia Corrigan, it was their first pony club showjumping event, and it did not disappoint.

Hastings riders came home with a swag of ribbons, prize rugs and trophies.

Ruby Huggett riding 'Ridgeview Prince' in the junior D grade came away with a first place in the 6 bar and second place in the single accumulator.

Georgia Corrigan riding 'Smart Lil Pepper' in the junior E grade and came home with third AM5, sixth single accumulator, third in grand prix and fourth A2.

"Well done girls on your first jumping competition, there's no stopping you now," she said.

Rori Graham riding 'Tequila' placed third in single accumulator, fifth in AM5, equal first in 6 Bar, second in grand prix. This result left her finishing up with equal reserve champion point score with Laura Wakley from Macleay Pony Club in the junior C grade.

Emelia Copelin riding 'Jack' placed sixth single accumulator, second in AM5, first in A2, and first in grand prix, and resulted in her winning champion point score in the junior C grade.

Ella Lathlean riding 'Lizzy' placed sixth in single accumulator, second in AM5, second in 6 bar, second in A2, and first in grand prix which left her finishing up with champion point score in the associate (over 17 riders) C grade.

Kimberley Tout riding 'One more minute' placed first in AM5, first in single accumulator, first in 6 bar, third in A2, first in Nestle' Championship Grand Prix and left her as the champion point score in the associate A grade.

The Wingham pony club event was a great warm up for Ms Tout who will travel to Denman to compete at the State Showjumping Championship on July 6-7.
