Hosting an author talk at the library on Wednesday, May 29 Ms Purmam will talk about her new book titled The Land Girls.
The book itself is a moving tale of love, loss and survival against the odds.
While World war Two is engulfing Europe and the Pacific and Australia is fighting for its future, life has not really changed for the three main characters.
Set during 1942, as the clouds of war darken the horizon, and the fears of loved ones fighting on the war front grows, the Land Girl's hold on their world and their new-found freedom is fragile.
Wauchope librarian Kylie Rose said the author talks were a great way for people to connect with books in a different way.
"The library hosts author talks as part of a broader reader's advisory service to expose the community to a range of literature, writing styles and genres," Ms Rose said.
"We attempt to source authors that will be of high interest and relatable to our specific communities.
"The library provides a venue for authors to promote their name and books within the community. It is also a way for participants to be inspired and gain insight into the craft of writing."
Victoria Purmam will be at the Wauchope library on May 29, at 10am.
