The Wauchope Hospital Volunteers' annual morning tea at the Senior Citizens Hall attracted more than 80 people representing community groups from throughout the Hastings Valley and beyond.
Tantalising treats and trading tables were again a focus of the fundraiser, which also featured a heart-felt thank you address from the hospital's director of nursing/executive officer Ann Bodill.
At the morning tea those who came also listened to an informative presentation from guest speakers Sandra Ward and Justin Berry from the Port Macquarie office of NSW Fair Trading.
Visitors included the north eastern regional representative for the NSW United Hospitals Auxiliary, Dee Hunter from Nambucca, Pink Ladies from Port Macquarie and a UHA representative from Kempsey, as well as a contingent from the Wauchope Senior Citizens, Wauchope Apex, and a former mayor, Frank Harrison and his wife Kate.
Wauchope Hospital Volunteers president Win Secombe thanked the visitors for their support, adding that their efforts, not only at the morning tea but all year round, delivered vital equipment and patient comfort items to a hospital proudly serving its local community.
Anyone wanting to join the Wauchope Hospital Volunteers can phone Mrs Secombe on 6585 1268.
Otherwise anyone wishing to join the group are more than welcome to come to the group's monthly meeting held at the Wauchope Hospital at 10am on the first Monday of the month.
