Marcia, who performs as Marcia Armfield, was awarded the Dubbo Dusty Boot award for services to country music.
The Harold 'Hec' Davies Memorial Award is considered a prestigious award.
The 71 year old has been singing, performing and writing songs since she was '13 or 14 years old'.
"Gosh, I been listening to Slim Dusty, Buddy Williams and Patsy Cline for as long as I can remember," she said.
"I was raised on a farm at Salisbury near Dungog and just listened to them growing up.
"I like the way the artists write their own songs and they tell a story honestly.
"And I like talking to country music people too. They always have a story to tell and I like to listen to how they got to where they are today and also about their achievements.
"The lyrics to country music songs are just really well put together," she said.
"Country music tells a real story."

Marcia said her late brother Selvin wrote a song about her in 1968 called Young Country Girl which she plans to record next year.
The country music performer was at a meeting on March 4, 1975 when the Country Music Club was discussed. Seven months later the Hastings Country Music Club was officially formed.
Marcia has rarely missed a meeting or function that the club has had since that first meeting. She is the only foundation member that remains active within the club.
She was presented life membership in 1988.
As a performer she has won many talent quests, including best female artist at Parkes in 1979 and Dubbo in 1980 and 1981. She also judges at many events.
She released an EP in 1980 and a CD in 1994 and 2004.
As well as her efforts on stage and judging, in October 1985 Marcia attended a meeting that eventually led to the establishing of Hastings Community Radio - now known as 2WAYFM.
Along with daughter Donna, the duo completed the presenters training program.
Marcia was involved in the first test broadcast from a caravan at Pappinbarra in 1986. She continues to fundraise for the station.
Her first broadcast with 2WAYFM was on a Saturday morning in 1992 with Marcia's Country. She still has her own show each Monday at noon called Where Country Is.
In 1997 she received an Akubra Cedar Hat for radio presenter at Kempsey's All Star Festival.
She regularly donates any cash prizes to charities and in 2017 helped raised $2000 for the Chad Morgan bronze bust.
Marcia has written close to 15 songs.
