And that response has created a fair bit of excitement for the wider Comboyne community.

Organiser Kristine Edwards says the markets are on every second month, ensuring that each market will feature a range of seasonal stalls.

"I really can't believe how this is bringing the community together," Ms Edwards said.

"It is really great for this area.

"Importantly, the stallholders are people who have a real passion and pride in what they make.

"This isn't a commercial event. Every second month will feature different stalls with different items."

The already booked stalls will feature vintage wares, vegetables and plants, homemade wreaths, homemade bags, cards, macadamia and pecans, homemade country cooking, Tamil cuisine, pork pies and homemade pate along with recycled cloths.

While the avocado season is still to arrive, Ms Edwards said she was hopeful of an early crop at the market.

Ms Edwards said while the makers' market had created plenty of interest on the plateau, it would also serve as an awareness campaign for the entire Port Macquarie-Hastings hinterland.

"I live in Comboyne but work in Port Macquarie and people are like 'wow that's a long way'," she said.

"So I was thinking about how we could create some awareness about our beautiful hinterland and what we have to offer on the plateau.

"Coming for a drive to Comboyne will get you back to nature and seeing what we have to offer.

"Your whole life just comes alive," she said.

The Comboyne Collective makers' market is on Sunday June 23 from 10am until 4pm. They are on opposite the former Sheather's Machinery.

Following market dates are August 25, October 27, December 22, February 23, 2020, April 26, June 28 and August 23.
