THE deduction of competition points and the introduction of the Duckworth-Lewis Stern Method were the two main outcomes from the Mid North Coast Cricket Council meeting on Monday night.

Starting from the 2019-2020 season, clubs will be required to fill out scores online during the match while away teams will have to fill out their own scorebook in the biggest change from the 2018-19 season.
Chairman Dave Burley said the onus was now on the clubs.
"All squads must be named online by 7pm on Friday night and results will need to be filled out by 12 noon on Sunday," Burley said.
A failure to do so will result in a loss of two competition points for the first offence and then a doubling of points for a second offence.
Should a club regularly fail to complete scores throughout the season, they were likely to end up on minus points.
"There were three clubs in particular that had a poor attitude to media releases last year," Burley said.
"So now, if clubs don't comply they may not be asked to come back in the competition the following year."
The onus on each club extended to one delegate being available to attend every Mid North Coast Cricket Council meeting throughout the season.
"We probably only have four a season, so it isn't that much," Burley said.
The introduction of the DLS method will see teams batting first benefiting more than they did with the old system.
Teams batting second regularly benefited from rain-affected matches in the 2018-19 season.
"We think it's a fairer method and by doing online scoring, the team batting second will be able to follow what their target is," he said.
The Premier League is set for a later return after the Christmas break with the competition to resume on January 18.
The new season will be underway on Saturday October 12 and will again involve clubs from the Manning, Hastings and Macleay associations.
Last season there were nine clubs in the competition with Taree United finishing as premiers after defeating Wauchope in the grand final.
Burley understands there is speculation that one Hastings club won't be nominating for 2019-2020.
"But I haven't heard anything official,'' he added.
