The announcement formed part of a successful 51st changeover dinner at the Wauchope RSL Club on Monday June 17.
Outgoing president Mike Hussey described the efforts of club members during the previous 12 months as 'exceptional'.
Mr Hussey handed over the running of the club to incoming president Jim Munro.
"The amount of effort and tiring hours performed by all members was simply exceptional," Mr Hussey said.
"As a result of the wonderful work performed by Steven Perkins with the Youth Sports Foundation, the club financially supported Tylee Donovan, and Kerien Smith.
"The Lions members were also very busy with several major attractions."
Mr Hussey pointed to numerous community events where Lions members had completed a fantastic job during the year.
Guests at the dinner included Tacking Point Lions' Rob and Ann Bruce. Mr Bruce is the zone chairman and was joined at the dinner by vice district governor Kevin Thornton.
Mr Munro said he was delighted to lead the club and welcomed new member Ros King into the Lions fold.
"Our club currently has almost 30 active members and everyone works very well together on various projects," he said.
"Everyone just steps up to the mark when and where they are required, which means we are again anticipating having another successful year.
"The club will again be part of the Wauchope Show, the caravan and camping show and the truck and machinery show in early July," he said.
The club donated $2500 to the drought appeal, donated $2050 back to schools from sports day, provided $1000 to, Australian Lions Foundation, Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, Townsville flood relief and nurses scholarships.
The new board is, president Jim Munro; immediate past president Mike Hussey; vice presidents Mark Pearse, Steve Perkins and Julianne McHugh, secretary Simon Abell, treasurer Greg Cavanagh and welfare officer Hazel Fraser.
