Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is yet to confirm a final design but has allocated some $50,000 toward the project in the operation plan for the next financial year.

The operation plan was ratified by council at its June meeting.

Council says it is yet to confirm exactly where the signs will be placed, the final sign designs or when the signs will be installed.

There will be three signs for Wauchope, two each for Byabarra and Comboyne and one each for Camden Head and Herons Creek.

Council says it asked the community for feedback on just what imagery it would like to see represented on the signs.

Wauchope Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Gary Rainbow says he's interested in hearing from the wider community on just what they want to have installed.

"Chamber does not want to detract from what is already in place," he says.

"Is the community concerned about the possible removal of the traditional timber signage at the eastern entrance?

"And what does the community think about the proposed new signage?

"Chamber is keen to hear from the community."

The structural designs for the signs were designed by council and tie in with an overall design philosophy that council has adopted for all future signage across the local government area.

This also includes wayfinding signage and interpretation signage.

The signs have been installed on the official boundaries that reflect where one locality ends and the other begins.

In some instances due to physical limitations such as drainage swales or other signs, the sign location may have had to move slightly from the exact boundary location.

Council completed its have your say community consultation in November 2018.
