Ms McLean's design was picked as the winner of mural design competition launched by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council in partnership with the Bonny Hills Progress Association (BHPA).
Local creatives and school students were invited to submit their designs, with a depiction of the surrounding environment, village and surf culture. Kim has received $1000 in prize money.
Ms McLean is a Port Macquarie-Hastings resident and a local artist. She has three children and fond memories of spending time at Rainbow Beach with them.
"My design was based on those memories of Bonny Hills and everything there is to see and do there," she said.
Ms McLean said the art is about living life to the full while connecting with nature, joy and beauty.
Local artist and guest judge for Bonny Hill's Rainbow Beach mural competition, Brian Barker hosted workshops during the competition.
The Hastings Valley Fine Art Association member was one of several judges in the creative competition.
He said he couldn't be happier with the final decision to name Kim as the winner.
Instances of graffiti and vandalism to the reserve toilet block were the catalyst for the mural design competition.
Bonny Hills Progress Association president Roger Barlow said the mural will make Rainbow Beach Reserve more attractive and showcase the artistic talent of the Port Macquarie-Hastings region.
There are more plans in the pipeline to beautify other areas of Bonny Hills, such as other amenities blocks or a water tower.
