While it started out with rocky beginnings, our beloved Glasshouse has definitely grown into a much-visited, popular venue for locals and visitors.
Since it opened, more than 2 million people have visited the Glasshouse, which highlights just how important the venue is in championing and supporting arts and culture in our region.
Our community has embraced the Glasshouse and it is hard to imagine life without it.
The benefits are far reaching. It has hosted a diverse range of performances and live entertainment from across the globe.
Council also offers local community groups the use of the venue at discounted rates to ensure everyone can experience and take advantage of the state-of-the-art facilities.
We are very lucky to have the Glasshouse in our region.
It has added a new dimension and uniqueness to our place that really is hard to match.
I can guarantee our neighbouring regions might not be jealous about how the Glasshouse came to be, but they are definitely jealous of the rewards and benefits our region reaps now that it is here - a decade of amazing and successful years down the track.
A big thanks to the staff, the many community volunteers who work in our Visitor Information Centre and theatre, and the hundreds of members who support the Glasshouse each year.
You truly have played a big role in the success of this wonderful asset for our community.
I encourage anyone who has not visited the Glasshouse lately to plan a trip to the gallery or attend an upcoming show with friends and family.
Show your support and enjoy this award-winning, richly praised, local cultural facility.
