As Wauchope parkrun prepares to celebrate its 3rd birthday this weekend, it's hard not to reflect on how far we have come in such a short space of time.

While the participation numbers are ever growing, it's the friendships, the life-changing stories and the positivity that is the true measure of our success.
The Wauchope community has embraced parkrun as it is a simple concept - it brings people together in a social, supportive and non-competitive environment. parkruns (the word always peculiarly starts with a little p) are not races, there are no winners, and we celebrate participation - whether it be walking, running or volunteering - over performance.
We regularly hear stories of people who are achieving what they never thought possible, but for many parkrunners, it is simply about running or walking with like-minded people and being part of their local community. And of course there is the post event catch-up at the local café.
This Saturday July 13 marks our third anniversary and our celebration theme is Teams. Come dressed in your favourite team colours, team uniform, mascot or wherever your imagination takes you.
The Wauchope parkrun team looks forward to seeing all those who have been part of the event over the last 3 years and as always, newcomers are very welcome.
Arrive 15 minutes before the start for a few short speeches, and enjoy some cake afterwards.
