An outstanding community service award will be presented in his honour. Nominations for the inaugural award are now open.
Wayne was a valued Port Chamber board member, had previously been involved with organising and planning the annual Business Awards events and served as treasurer for several years, until his tragic passing in June 2018.
Wayne worked in the banking industry locally since 1995 and was well known and respected within the business community.
Wayne's involvement in sport saw him volunteer with the Wauchope Soccer Club, as well as the Wauchope Blues Rugby League Club, where he historically served as a committee member, club treasurer, first aid officer and coach of both senior and junior teams.
He was regularly involved with charitable projects including Relay for Life, and the recent Him in Heels walk, Business House relays, as well as many other community events. A founding member of the annual Business Awards, Wayne was crucial in providing support through sponsorship and volunteering.
In honour of his contributions to the local community, nominations are now open for the annual Wayne Jackson Outstanding Community Service Award, which will be presented by Wayne's wife, Rebecca Jackson and Chamber president, Michael Mowle on Saturday, July 27 at the gala awards dinner.
