The organising committee will hold the official launch for the Relay For Life at Port City Bowling Club on Sunday August 4. The events starts at 2pm, says co-chair of the committee, Mel Collins.
"The Hastings Relay For Life is at at Oxley Oval on November 2 and 3 and will feature a spooky theme," she said.
"This launch event is a chance for the community to come along, find out a bit more about relay while having a bit of fun bowling and dressing up in their best spooky Halloween outfits.
"The event will kick off at 2pm with a fun, non-competitive barefoot bowls competition with teams of three.
"There will be a gold coin donation sausage sizzle and prizes for best and worst teams and one for best dressed of course."
Port City Bowling Club's club grants coordinator Luke Chelman encouraged everyone in the community to join in the event.
"As a club that prides itself on continually supporting our local community, we are happy to be sponsoring the 2019 Relay For Life," he said.
"You don't need to be a bowler to come along to the launch; your presence will help us in our goal to raise as much funds, awareness and support as possible for this incredible event and organisation.
"So be sure to pop by the club for what will be a fantastic afternoon.
Your support at the launch will help in the lead up to one of the most vital community driven charity events for our Hastings community this year.

"Your support at the launch will help in the lead up to one of the most vital community driven charity events for our Hastings community this year."
Cancer Council NSW's Lauren Fraser said the event is a fun way for the community to support their local events while fundraising to beat cancer.
"Over 800 people per year are diagnosed with cancer in our lower mid north coast community," she said.
"Events such as these help the Cancer Council provide local services to support patients including access to our Transport to Treatment, access to cancer specialists via our 131120 Information Support Line, Support Groups, financial and legal aid, counselling and accommodation services.
"Your support funds world-class research, helping to improve outcomes for cancer patients, allowing us to work towards a cancer free future."
Be sure to register prior to the event.
Registration is $10 per person and you can register at online by visiting their website.
