The match was played at Findlay Park.
Port Saints just did enough to get the job done scoring goals either side of halftime.
The win puts Saints into third place on the competition ladder as the battle tightens up in the semi final race.
For Wauchope the loss leaves them stuck at the bottom of the competition ladder with six competition points.
In other round 16 matches, Port United maintained its view from atop the ladder with a 5-0 win over Taree Wildcats.
The win means the Port United club cannot be beaten for the Premier's Plate.
Their 5-0 victory at Omaru Park also ended the slim finals hopes of their opponents.
Camden Haven Redbacks went to Optus Park, Kempsey to take on Macleay Valley Rangers.
The Redbacks stunned the Rangers outfit with a 3-0 result.
The Reds are now well in the finals hunt whilst the Rangers drop to fourth place.
In the final match, Kempsey Saints travelled to Tuncurry to take on the home side and came away with a 3-0 win.
The victory leaves the Macleay side in fifth place on the ladder.
Second placed Wallis Lake enjoyed the bye and actually moved ahead of Rangers.
