Known far and wide for their fundraising efforts in support of Wauchope District Memorial Hospital, this week the volunteers were able to place a dollar value on that support - a massive $17,927.60.
The impressive tally was in addition to an even more remarkable figure of 33,236 - the amount of volunteer hours given by branch members in support of patients, staff and visitors at the hospital.
Donated equipment for the past year included 12 whiteboards, a pedal exercise machine, pressure care chairs, leg rests, shower commode and more for the hospital's Rehabilitation Unit, as well as a gazebo and Jack and Jill table and seats for the grounds of the hospital.
The gift of equipment and precious time was the focus of a heartfelt thank you, delivered by the hospital's Nurse Administration Manager Judy Beilby.
Her words of gratitude were echoed by the United Hospital Auxiliaries of NSW's North Eastern Regional Representative Dee Hunter.
"It's always a pleasure coming to Wauchope for your fundraising luncheons and morning teas. You are a small group who raises a large amount of money in support of your hospital, for which I want to say 'thank you'," Ms Hunter said.
"Your astounding 33,000 volunteer hours really is a measure of your generous hearts."
President Win Secombe thanked the branch members who worked hard on the group's Wauchope IGA stalls, the Lake Innes stalls, and the many other fundraising events and activities hosted by the group throughout the year.
She also paid tribute to the greater Wauchope community, which generously supported the volunteers' fundraisers.
"Every one of you is just wonderful," Ms Secombe said.
The AGM culminated with the election of office bearers for 2019-20.
In a show of support for the hard work of the outgoing executive committee, all were returned.
Win Secombe is president, Margaret Mostyn is treasurer and Jenna Wood is secretary. Vice-president is Judy Allan and minutes secretary is Carol Peters.
The group's next fundraiser will be its annual luncheon at the Wauchope RSL Club on September 24, from midday.
Tickets cost $25 each and can be purchased from Ms Secombe on 6585 1268.
