Since 2007, the Wauchope Shed has been part of the Hastings Men's Shed organisation with activities and funding being administered by the committee at the Port Macquarie Men's Shed.
As of June 2019 however the Wauchope Shed has its own elected management committee comprising of members from the local community who better understand the needs of the group.
The committee includes president Robert Read, vice-president John Wells, secretary John Ridgway, treasurer John Williams and public officer John Sadleir.
The Shed is also registered with NSW Fair Trading as an incorporated and charitable organisation in its own name.
Local businesses and organisations can now provide their valued support for the Wauchope Shed with the assured understanding that the benefits will remain in the local community.
Located at the Wauchope Showgrounds the Shed currently has 26 members hailing from a large range of backgrounds and expertise.
The Shed has also delivered a range of projects including a cubby house for children at Wauchope Public School, outdoor seating and tables for local schools and clubs and replacement seating for the Wauchope Show Society.
The Shed works predominantly with timber but also has capacity for metal work, machining and welding.
The Shed is a valued and integral part of the community and maintains a safe and happy environment in which all members are free to work on their own projects or simply come by for a cuppa and a chat.
No previous skills are needed to become part of the shed and they encourage all men to come along for some mateship.
