Ladies from Inner wheel Port Macquarie have recently spent some time with members from Riding for the Disabled (RDA) in Wauchope.

Inner Wheel have been supporting the riding organisation since 2006 and love coming out to see the group in action and on August 13 presented a donation to the group.

Margot Lee and Joan Field are both members of Inner Wheel and said they were delighted to continue to help the RDA.

"When I was in Inner Wheel in Sydney we supported the local Riding for the Disabled and when I moved to Port Macquarie and became club president in 2006 I wanted to continue to help," Mrs Field said.

"RDA is such an incredible organisation and in 2006 we were given a horse to 'look after' named Topper and we love knowing the joy he brings to people."

"We have hosted barbecues, morning teas, a garage sale and lots of different events to support RDA," Ms Lee said.

"Members from our local Riding for the Disabled branch do an incredible job and it is wonderful to know we are supporting the community.

"Our group is all about helping in our local community and we feel this is an excellent local community organisation.

"Since we have taken on sponsoring Topper we have made a saddle blanket for him and help with his ongoing costs."

Cathy Wagstaffe, secretary for Riding for the Disabled said the group were so thankful for the ongoing support on Inner Wheel.

"We just want to say a huge thank you to the ladies from Inner Wheel for their continual support of Topper and our organisation," Mrs Wagstaffe said.
