Over 25 cars will be making their way from Gloucester to Tuncurry via Coffs Harbour taking part in the 2019 Trek4kidz.
The cars they will travel over 2,800km, through Mudgee, Armidale, Coffs Harbour, Wauchope, South West Rocks and finally to Tuncurry arriving on August 31.
The Trek is an annual event and each year participants take their much loved cars across the country travelling on mostly dirt roads all in the name of charity.
The cars will help create an awareness and raise vital money along their route to help Starlight Children's Foundation, Australia's broadest-reaching children's charity who continue to brighten the lives of seriously ill and hospitalised children and their families.
Funds from this year's trek will go towards Starlight's vital hospital services - Captain Starlight and the Starlight Express Room which are available in every children's hospital around Australia.
Trek4kidz publicity officer Michelle McDonald said the trek was a great way the community could help support the work the Starlight Foundation does.
"To see the impact Starlight's work has on sick children, teenagers and their families, we know how worthwhile the trek is - that's what keeps us coming back each year," Ms McDonald said.
"As a result of the current economic climate, fundraising is becoming increasingly challenging, sadly the numbers of seriously ill children will not decline so that's why we are proud to support the Starlight.
"We never tire of visiting local communities and contributing to this worthwhile cause.
"Regional communities are wonderful in banding together to support those in need, and the community spirit shown for the Trek4Kidz event is no exception.
"So we are hoping everyone will get behind this year's trek."
Starlight CEO Louise Baxter said the foundation brings joy to sick kids.
"Serious illness and hospitalisation can steal the joy of childhood," Ms Baxter said.
"At Starlight we know happiness matters to a sick child's development, and the work we do to support them in children's hospitals nationally is only made possible through incredible community events like Trek4Kids.
"Trek4Kidz goes from strength to strength each year and their continued commitment to Starlight is truly inspiring."
The rally will come through Wauchope on August 29 and stay the night before leaving early on august 30.
