Led by resident and Auxiliary member, Louise Barr, the Op Shop has gone from strength to strength.
Ms Barr said that the shop had gone from strength to strength because of the dedicated volunteers who help out.
"It couldn't be done without her merry band of workers," Ms Barr said.
In August, 2019 the Op Shop will reach a very significant milestone having raised $100,000 since its inauguration in 2014.
Garden Village CEO, Craig Wearne said it was a wonderful achievement.
"It is our aged care residents who directly benefit, with these funds purchasing some wonderful additions for our community," Ms Wearne said.
Most recently the Auxiliary has purchased some new iPad's to help enable better communication between residents and their loved ones as well as the much loved addition of Archie, the Garden Village resident dog.
Garden Village Auxiliary President, Helen Guthrie commented the shop had done wonders for the community.
"we are so proud of the efforts of our volunteers and the Auxiliaries vision for the aged care facility," Ms Guthrie said.
"They are thinking outside the box for ways to contribute and Archie is a perfect example of that."
Garden Village Auxiliary helps to enhance the lives of those living in aged care with their generous contributions and very hard work.
Mr Wearne applauded the team of volunteers for their work.
"Garden Village is so grateful to have wonderful community minded residents who give so much of their personal time to support others," he said.
The Garden Village Op Shop is open Wednesday and Thursdays from 9am to 12.30pm and the second Saturday of each month.
