Daniel Manwarring pleaded guilty to two charges when he appeared before Magistrate Price.
Manwarring was charged with possession of a prohibited drug (.08 grams of methamphetamine), and driving with an illegal drug in his system.
The court heard that Manwarring had arranged transportation to and from work six days a week.
"He is reliant on others to get to work at Wauchope where he is a baker," his solicitor said.
"Police were alerted when they noticed my client was driving slowly."
Magistrate Price said the matters were serious given that Manwarring was on bail for other unrelated charges at the time of the incident.
Manwarring was convicted on both charges and fined a total of $1000 and disqualified from driving for six months.
