Last Thursday, with the Federal Member for Cowper, Pat Conaghan, I was delighted to open Lighthouse Rd (East), after the much-needed upgrades to improve safety and make the lighthouse easier to access.
If you haven't been down to check the improvements out yet, I encourage you do so... and make sure you pack a cuppa, and take the time to chill out, breathe in the fresh sea air, and enjoy the spectacular views.
One of the great things are the improvements to safety for pedestrians, and you can now stroll on a dedicated pathway all the way from Davis Crescent through to the lighthouse.
Tacking Point Lighthouse is one of our top three visitor attractions, and I can imagine the stories people tell when they return home from their travels, about our beautiful lighthouse.
Our lighthouse would no doubt always be a highlight, and with that spectacular view and opportunity to catch a glimpse of a passing whale, who could blame them.
Whilst we're talking about our lighthouse, make sure you mark in your diary October 25, when the lighthouse will shine as part of 'Light it Red of Dyslexia'.
The Glasshouse and Town Square will also be lit red on October 15.
