Last weekend, Billy, who goes to Wauchope High School, won the 2019 J2 Australian Off-Road Championship, for the second consecutive year. It was best over 11 rounds of racing, which took place in Toowoomba, Dungog, Kyogle, Broken Hill, Coonalpyn and finally Hedley in Victoria on September 14 and 15.

His father, Daniel said that this year, Billy fell off his bike and broke his thumb in Toowoomba back in the early rounds in March.

"He struggled because that meant he missed round two. It was a tough time, but he managed to claw back, and win the championships," he said.

Billy does a lot of training at the local pool, push bike riding and a lot of on-bike time. He eventually wants to pursue a career in his favourite sport.

"All our supporters and family are very proud of him," said Mr Hargy.

"Since March, we have had a lot of pressure on us to be dominant. In 10 rounds, he had nine first places and one third place."
