Wauchope Bonny Hills athletes are getting ready to head to the Gold Coast again this weekend to take part in the iconic Coolangatta Gold .

The club has two teams of masters athletes who will be competing in the short course on Saturday October 12.
The first team, The Bonny Bras is a combined team with Maroubra SLSC and this will be the third year the team has raced together.
Team captain and ski paddler Gayl Ellis put the team together three years ago with some friends from the Maroubra club and they are hoping to improve on their times from last year.
The second team, Bonny's Masters is a combined team from the local clubs.
Captain and ski paddler Elaine Walker from Wauchope Bonny Hills, board paddler Craig Chichester from Tacking Point and swimmer and runner Cassie Pensini from Camden Haven.
The masters will be accompanied by some younger club members in their quest for gold.
17 year old Chayce Anderson will be taking on the short course as an individual for the second year.
The course entails a 10.5km Ski paddle, 2km Swim, 3 km Board paddle and finishing with a 5.5km run.
Two locals will also be taking part in the Youth Challenge, Blake Ellis age 11 and Llewellyn Bassett age 14.
The youth challenge is a 300m soft sand run, 400m swim, 400m run, 500m board and finishing with a 50m run.
The Youth challenge takes place on Sunday October 13 which is the same day as the main long course event where many of the sports elite athletes will be competing.
The Bonny's masters and the younger competitors are being sponsored by local business Hastings Specialty Furniture.
