As part of Breast Cancer Awareness month the group are wanting to shine a light on the local community support set up to help those who are diagnosed, being treated and who are in remission.
The group were at Wauchope IGA on October 11 to share resources and raise awareness and funds for the Breast Cancer Network.
Judith Hutchesson is the coordinator of the local support group and she said awareness days and months were important for the community to get behind.
"In Wauchope we placed around 100 Pink Lady silhouettes as tributes to those lost to breast cancer, around the carpark and placing smaller lady cutouts on the windows," Ms Hutchesson said.
"We were also selling raffle tickets for Breast Cancer Network Australia to help them continue to do the world they do helping women and men with breast cancer."
Breast Cancer Network say that an estimated 18,000 people were diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018.
This means more than 50 people per day diagnosed making breast cancer one of the most common cancers diagnosed in women in Australia.
Ms Hutchesson said the support group met in Port Macquarie but had ladies from across the Hastings involved and was a safe place women could come at any stage in their cancer journey.
"The support group is a safe, inclusive space women can come to cry, laugh and let their emotions out," she said.
"You don't know what it is like to go through breast cancer until you are put in that position and so all the members of the support group have been through cancer.
"We support each other and share our stories to help people who are newly diagnosed or going through a rough time."
She said the awareness day at Wauchope was a great opportunity to talk to members in the community about getting checked for cancer.
"Getting your health checks is not something that should be put off or forgotten about."
