Healthy Communities is one small part of an educational and healthy living program encouraging healthy eating and active lifestyles to help contribute to the Premier's priority of reducing obesity in children.
The children are relishing the delicious produce, rushing to see what is on offer each day when the fruit and vegetable boxes are taken out to the eating area.
The staff say Hastings Coop IGA Timbertown is being a great support to the school by providing a fantastic variety of fresh produce each week. They have even brought on board several of their suppliers enabling the students to try, some for the very first time, tasty treats such as golden kiwi, corn, qukes (baby cucumbers), grape tomatoes, rockmelon, watermelon, dutch carrots and radishes.
