A spokesperson from an independent retailer of fuel in Port Macquarie says the fires on the Mid North Coast have the ability to impact petrol supply.
The spokesperson, who didn't want to be named, said unfortunately the station has run out of diesel, as the closure of the Pacific Highway has impacted deliveries to the area.
He said the station might also run out of unleaded petrol, if the vehicles can't deliver to the station later today (Tuesday, November 12) or in the morning of Wednesday, November 13.
The fuel is usually delivered to the bowsers every two days.
However the spokesperson said as the station's tanks are quite small other petrol locations will still be stocked.
Another independent retailer is fully stocked. However he said he was concerned about the potential impact of highway closures later in the week.
A spokesperson from BP Australia said staff are working with logistics partners to closely monitor weather and road conditions.
"Safely managing fuel supply to the communities we operate in remains a priority," he said.
For information on road closures, check www.livetraffic.com. Roads may be closed without warning.
A total fire ban remains in place for NSW, all state forests and national parks are closed.
The fire danger rating for the Mid North Coast is extreme.
