A bright and active puppy and a serene indoor cat are on the lookout for new homes

At Christmas time the RSPCA reminds buying pets as gifts is not a great idea. Please remember pets are for life - not a toy given as a present.

SKYE is a seven-month-old German shepherd cross kelpie surrendered to the shelter. She needs a family who will continue her training to help her become a well behaved lady. She will sit, especially for her food, which is a good reward to encourage her to do better. Skye is an active pup, so she will need daily exercise out and about where she is quite social with other dogs. She would need to be introduced to any dogs at home before joining the family. Skye is desexed, micro-chipped, vet checked, vaccinated, flea treated, wormed and will cost $385 to adopt.

BEAN is our long term resident and we hope her new family comes along soon. She is two years old and needs to be an indoor cat. Bean is a friendly girl but doesn't like too much handling, so she would be best in a home with mature children who know she doesn't like being carried around. She likes gentles pats and cuddles for short periods. Bean will also need to be the only cat in the home, and is not fond of dogs. She is desexed, micro-chipped, vet checked, vaccinated, flea treated, wormed, litter trained and will cost $150 to adopt.
