A spokesman for the Mid North Coast Are Command said that thieves don't go on holidays and to ensure your stay is safe, secure and memorable, please take the time to do the following:
1. Lock all cabin and caravan windows and doors and tie down tent flaps prior to going out.
2. Don't leave handbags, wallets and car keys in view.
3. Don't leave surfboards, wetsuits, boogie boards etc out in the open especially at night.
4. Trailered boats are not a safe place for fishing gear. Lock away rods, reels, gps, tackle boxes and fuel tanks.
5. Don't leave doors and windows unlocked at night whilst asleep.
6. Secure motor vehicles. Only leave valuables in them as a last resort.
7. Secure eskies and bikes inside your cabin. If you can't lock your annexe secure valuables to immovable object.
8. Report all suspicious activity to police.
If you are the victim of a theft, report your loss straight away by ringing the police on 131444, or if it's an emergency, ring 000. Report it to your accommodation advisor as well.
