During the fires last month, Show Society volunteers opened up the showground to hundreds of people and their animals, and provided food and shelter around the clock.
Wauchope Show Society president, Neil Coombes gave NAB officials a tour of the showground and pointed out where people stayed in their cars and caravans and where makeshift pens were built for some of the animals.
"We didn't expect this cheque. The generosity is brilliant, and we will put the money to good use, for sure," he said.
Kim Dahler from the NAB Wauchope branch was delighted that her bank could donate to a local organisation.
"The Show Society did so much work during the recent fires, and I'm loving that it's my town and we can contribute some money to thank the society for their work," she said.
