"Many thanks to all our wonderful volunteers involved in working behind the scenes and on the front line, and to our sponsors, Nick and Julie Slater from Slater and Slater Real Estate," said organiser, Carol Higgins.
Soup, baked ham, roast turkey, baked vegetables as well as the usual selections were available. Vegetarians and gluten-free needs were not neglected. All this, as well as traditional desserts were available.
"Goods provided by Oz Harvest, which are surplus food from retailers, are a welcome aid to our supplies. Private individuals donated very welcome goods of all sorts," said Carol Higgins.
"Local butchers, including Coppy's Butchers Block, were very helpful, and Wauchope Colonial Bakery has been very supportive for a long time. Thank you all. We are sure that our generous local community will continue to support our efforts which began in 2002," she said.
"We are here in the Uniting Church Hall each Friday for all, and would love to welcome you, and ask that you continue with any assistance you are able to offer, financial or goods.
"We have many to thank from our local community for assistance during the year. We are not a group which is blessed with overwhelming funds, but have to be there for who welcome a nourishing meal once a week for more than 17 years.
"We would warmly welcome any volunteers from our community, only a smile, and a wish to lend a hand are needed," she added.
Contact Carol Higgins - 0488525600 or turn up at the hall in Hastings Street on a Friday between 9am - 3pm.
Wauchope Uniting Church will continue to serve meals during the Christmas season, apart from Friday December 27. Back on January 3, same time, same place.
