They raised an amazing $3,220 to help Wauchope Rotary buy hay for farmers doing it tough, as the punishing drought gets worse.
Bowlers Melissa Murray, Sonia Donkin, Paul 'Taffy' Thomas and Brian 'Yowie' Donkin fundraised for seven weeks. They wore red shirts as a mark of respect for our firefighters.
They are grateful to Lewie's Quality Butchery, Coppy's Butcher Block and Stokes The Butcher for donating sausages, Colonial Bakery who provided buns and Wauchope Country Club which donated green fees.
The money will be used to buy much-needed hay to try and keep our farmers afloat. Reg Pierce from Wauchope Rotary said it costs $18,500 to get a B-double load of hay delivered.
"Every little bit helps. We know our community is in good shape when we have people like our bowlers raising funds to help Rotary with its work. A heartfelt thank you to all who contributed," he said.
