Starting at 9am in Blackbutt Park, the event will last until the afternoon.
"We are very excited to be running our first inter club gala day and have athletes travelling from as far as Woolgoolga, Nambucca Heads, Coffs Harbour and Taree," said Leanne Farrington from Wauchope Little Athletics.
"After making the tough call to cancel our Zone Carnival due to the bushfires in November, this gala day is a great opportunity for athletes to have some competition before they head to Tamworth in February for the Regional Championships."
The club is advising residents that there will be increased activity at the sporting fields from 7am until about 3pm on the day. The first gun will be from 8am.
"We exclusively use an electronic starter that does not make a loud sound and operates well under the noise regulations for a sporting field, but it may irritate a small number of pets, so please be aware of this, and take any necessary precautions," said Leanne.
There may also be increased parking and road congestion on the day. The event has the full support of the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, Little Athletics NSW and Athletics Australia.
The event features running, long jump, discus, shot put, triple jump and javelin competitions from tiny tots up to under-17's.
