The event was at Blackbutt Park.
Despite the rainy conditions, all the athletes enjoyed the chance to get in some much-need practice prior to the Regional titles scheduled for Tamworth on February 8.
Wauchope Little Athletics president Emily Holbert said teams from Woolgoolga, Coffs Harbour, Old Bar, Taree and Gloucester competed in Sunday's event.
"The events included short and long distance running, long and triple jump, shot putt and discuss," she told ABC radio.
"Competitors covered the aged group from under 5s through to 17 years.
"Points in Little Athletics are accumulated over a season and are based on timed results or distances, rather than placings. So you could run last in every event but because you have improved your time, you will be recognised at the end of the season."
The event was due to be held last year but was postponed due to the bushfire and smoke issues.
Athletes used Sunday's event to prepare for the regional titles in Tamworth in February, she said.
