The says it has been meeting outside the MP's office in Wauchope for many weeks.
This is despite Dr Gillespie reportedly telling the Nationals' party room that people in his electorate haven't raised climate change as an issue with him. The MP has denied the claims.
The group says it has also written a number of letters to Dr Gillespie to demonstrate "in various ways" that his constituents do care about the issue of climate change.
"To make his claim, he must clearly not have been taking much notice of what is happening in his own Lyne electorate, even when it happens just outside his office," one of the protesters said.
Dr Gillespie said he is "disappointed" by the reports which he says are untrue.
"I do support a move to renewables as part of our energy-generating mix, and I actively practice it at home, with my own solar system, as many households across the electorate do," he said.
"Australia leads the world in per-capita investment in renewable energy. It almost doubles the level of second placed Japan. We also have a new $2 billion Climate Solutions Fund to ensure we meet and beat our climate change targets.
"Since 2005 Australia's emissions have fallen 12.9 per cent compared with 2 per cent in Canada and a rise of 4 per cent in New Zealand. In that time China's emissions have risen 67 per cent and India 77 per cent.
"In 2013, renewables contributed 13.7 per cent of electricity in the National Electricity Market, in 2019, this grew to 22.7per cent. According to the Australian Government's 2019 emissions projections, renewables are expected to contribute 27 per cent of Australia's electricity sent out in 2020."
Protester and letter writer, Cathy Eggert from Frazers Creek says the group meets each Friday outside the Wauchope electorate office to "discuss the urgent need for real climate action".
"We are a varied group of your constituents and there are a different mix of people here each week," the letter says.
We represent farmers, horticulturalists, health professionals, retirees, stonemasons, small business managers, academics, renewable energy professionals and more each week.
- Cathy Eggert
"We represent farmers, horticulturalists, health professionals, retirees, stonemasons, small business managers, academics, renewable energy professionals and more each week.
"Your community is extremely concerned about climate change and we are already suffering the impacts of anthropogenic global warming. The summer of 2019-20 has featured extraordinary heat waves, unprecedented fire activity and flooding.
"Dr Gillespie your people are hurting and we respectfully write you ... to look deep in your heart and put us at the forefront of your business as our representative in parliament.
"There is no debate about anthropogenic climate change and we don't have more time for procrastination at the government level."
Ms Eggert said Australia is not pulling its weight on controlling emissions of greenhouse gasses nor sequestering carbon at a high enough rate.
"We trust you give this your serious attention. Your hard-working families - the "quiet Australians" - of Lyne need you to step-up and take real action on climate change."
Dr Gillespie said readers can see details of a number of projects the government is supporting through ARENA. https://arena.gov.au/projects/
"Progress is being made but there is more work to be done, and I will continue working with local communities to deliver real environmental improvements,": Dr Gillespie said.
