A MAN has been arrested and charged with drug offences after a police pursuit in Wauchope on March 24.

About 11.45am on Tuesday, police observed a known 32-year-old man allegedly driving a 2010 black Ford Falcon motor vehicle in High Street, Wauchope. The male is currently on bail with conditions and is not to drive a motor vehicle.
Police activated warning devices and the driver has allegedly pulled away from police and driven at speeds in excess of the speed limit onto Rocks Ferry Road.
As police approached the vehicle, the driver has allegedly driven at police causing a collision with the police vehicle.
The male driver has allegedly run from the vehicle towards the Hastings River where he has lost his footing and was apprehended.
While being handcuffed, the man has allegedly dropped two plastic containers which contained a white crystal substance. A search of the vehicle located a further two plastic containers and a set of scales.
Police will allege they seized three grams of methamphetamine.
The man was conveyed to the Port Macquarie Police Station where he was charged with police pursuit and driving recklessly, driving with a cancelled licence, possessing a prohibited drug and a detention warrant. He was refused bail to appear at the Port Macquarie Local court on March 25.
