A spokesperson from the NRMA says the actions by one Port Macquarie petrol station to drop unleaded petrol to 99.9 cents per litre should be the norm not the exception.

"Readers should not be surprised by this," NRMA spokesperson Peter Khoury said.
The independent station with the price of 99.9 cents per litre is located on Gordon Street and is the only station in Port Macquarie to drop its price below $1.
Mr Khoury said it's disappointing people in Port Macquarie are still not getting a fair price, with the average price of unleaded petrol in the town at 1.26 cents per litre.
Meanwhile the average price of unleaded petrol for the Port Macquarie-Hastings region is 1.06 cents per litre.
Over the past five weeks, Mr Khoury said the unleaded petrol price has dropped 26 cents per litre in Port Macquarie and 34 cents per litre for the Port Macquarie-Hastings.
However, Mr Khoury said it's nowhere near enough, given prices in Sydney have been falling by a cent each day.
World oil prices are at a 20 year low and according to the NRMA weekly fuel report, over supply concerns continue to pressure crude prices.
According to the NRMA Fuel Check website, on Wednesday, April 15 the most expensive unleaded petrol in Port Macquarie was priced at 132.9 by two stations.
Meanwhile down south, four Laurieton petrol stations had unleaded petrol priced at 107.9 and one station at North Haven was priced at 106.9.
The NRMA urges people to arm themselves with knowledge and to find the best price of fuel in their area.
