In this week's mayoral message Port Macquarie-Hastings Council Mayor Peta Pinson said the council's customer service centres at Port Macquarie, Laurieton and Wauchope had re-opened, but encouraged people to avoid visiting if possible
"Unless it's absolutely urgent that you come down, or you can't pay online and you need to come down and make a payment, we just suggest you stay away, stay safe," Cr Pinson said.
"If you do come down, again, social distance."
She said face-to-face meetings with planners were not operating but advice could be given in a call.

Peoeple could also get advice on council matters by calling the phone centre.
Cr Pinson said that while people would want to support businesses after they had been "closed for such a long time" everybody had to be "mindful this pandemic still with us".
"Remember hand washing, sanitising and social distancing to make sure we stay well and safe" she said.
Cr Pinson also said Port Macquarie library's click and collect services were in operation and when its doors re-opened patrons would find new carpet had been installed.
"There are plenty of movies available, it's all free," she said.
"Community library services are so important to community."
