The Camden Haven Pastoral Agricultural Horticultural and Industrial Society Incorporated has requested the volunteer community group vacate the showground at Kendall after negotiations failed.

The Society said earlier this year it has been advised it can no longer stable the horses on-site due to safety concerns and that the negotiations with Kendall RDA had "broken down and become untenable".

Kendall RDA offered to provide fencing on-site at the showground at their own expense to alleviate any perceived risk. That offer was not considered.

Kendall RDA vice president Jenny McGregor said there is still no home locked in for RDA's seven horses, around 40 volunteers, infrastructure and next year's horse rides.

"We've been evicted and we have to be gone by November 30. We have had to pull down everything, some of the horse shelters and fencing has already been pulled down," Mrs McGregor said.

"Our rider's stable, kitchen, office and the full size arena has got to be cut up and pulled down. A feed shed and machinery shed, concrete slabs removed.

"We are under a legal timeframe to get these horses out of the showground by early July. The whole situation has totally broken down.

"We're still working on where everything will go. It's all been very distressing."

Kendall RDA has called the showgrounds home for four years, providing horse riding for around 24 riders with disabilities. Horses are being agisted separately at Stewarts River and Bobs Creek while a new level 10 acre base is found.

"The full set up at the showgrounds cost us about $90,000 and it's a lot to move considering we thought we'd be there permanently. We wouldn't have done it if we didn't think it was our forever home," Mrs McGregor.

"We're desperately focused on getting somewhere to go before we can start riding again in January, March 2021.

"We're not giving up and we will try every source we can to get somewhere to go. We're temporarily closed, not closed forever.

"We have had some generous offers but really we need around nine to 10 acres which is permanent to plant our future in. We want a future for Riding for the Disabled and we are happy to negotiate if someone has that available."

Kendall RDA has created a $100,000 fundraising page to help purchase their own land.
