A PARTNERSHIP between Federal and State governments are turbocharging a program to improve local roads and create jobs at several key sites in the Hastings Valley.

The Australian Government has committed $191 million to build on the NSW Government's $500 million Fixing Local Roads program, ensuring even more regional communities benefit, faster.
Federal Member for Lyne, Dr David Gillespie, said the Australian Government's funding injection is about generating jobs and stimulating local economies.
"The injection will see $382 million of joint funding allocated to shovel-ready projects able to start in the next 12 months, driving an estimated 3,500 jobs in regional NSW," Dr Gillespie said.
"These are also important local roads for our primary industries which carrying freight from dairy, beef, timber and other important produce which generate local jobs and economic activity for our region."
State Member for Oxley Melinda Pavey said the NSW Government was also accelerating its funding to seal, maintain and repair local roads faster.
"This is about delivering projects that can make a big difference for local communities - projects that will drive valuable jobs in our region over the next 12 months for councils and contractors," Ms Pavey said.
Projects receiving funding under the joint Federal-State funding package in the Hastings area include:
$2,440,000 - Pembrooke Road between Beechwood Road and Stoney Creek Road: restoring surface condition: The section of Pembrooke Road between Beechwood Road and Stoney Creek Road is planned to be overlaid with gravel, road shoulders constructed where practical and then stabilised and sealed.
550,000 - Pembrooke Road between Loggy Creek Bridge and Saltwater Creek bridge: The section of Pembrooke Road between Loggy Creek Bridge and north of Saltwater Creek Bridge is planned to be overlaid with gravel, road shoulders constructed where practical and then stabilised and sealed.
1,110,000 - Bago Road, Wauchope: The section of Bago Road between Bluewater Close and Timbertops Close is planned to be overlaid with gravel, road shoulders constructed where practical and then stabilised and sealed.
