Federal Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie said this round will specifically prioritise applications with a strong health, wellbeing or safety emphasis.
"Now more than ever, Sheds offer men a critical avenue for social support and engagement, this round acknowledges the impact of COVID-19 and the need for men's sheds in the recovery period and beyond," Dr Gillespie said.
Additionally, in light of COVID-19, IT equipment and training will be prioritised to facilitate increased connectivity amongst shedders.
Men's Sheds can apply for financial support across the following funding categories:
- Category 1: Health, Wellbeing, and Events $8,000 maximum
- Category 2: Shed Improvements $8,000 maximum
- Category 3: Equipment $5,000 maximum
"This funding can help our Sheds deliver programs with a strong health, wellbeing or safety focus and I urge all local Sheds to apply.
"To stay healthy, we all need to do regular activities with the people around us, and our local Men's Sheds has become a focal point for our towns and villages big and small.
"In the last round I was pleased to deliver close to $15,000 funding across three men's sheds delivering upgrades to dust extraction fans, a new kitchen and Flammable Liquid Storage."
Applications for the current funding round close Friday 27 November. For more information, visit mensshed.org
