Face-to-face rehearsals were only possible in the last two months before opening.
But the cast remained dedicated to the production and its commitment to raise money and awareness for the youth-focused initiative, Young Carers.
Director Kathleen Ford said the cast had found the process challenging without the face-to-face rehearsals until recently but they rose well beyond expectations.
Proceeds from the musical will go to Young Carers after assistant director Wendy Beck alerted the cast to the cause.
The Carers NSW initiative supports young people aged under 25 who find themselves responsible for the care of someone close to them.
The program was developed to make a positive difference to the lives of young carers and their families.
The production of 13 the Musical, described as a hilarious coming of age musical, opens at Panthers Port Macquarie on Saturday, January 23.
