Five of their members have qualified for the Little Athletics NSW State Championships after submitting personal best records in a different format to what was previously run.
Nick Milner, Miller Farrington, Teleah Holbert, Flynn McGovern and Riley Copp thought their chances of making state level were dashed when COVID-19 forced the cancellation of zone and regional carnivals.
Club president Emily Holbert said they then had to go through a strict process to gain selection at the next level.
"For the under-nine to under-12 state championships, athletes had to submit their personal best times in chosen events and then be selected to attend a state qualifiers meet in Tamworth," she said.
The meet in Tamworth last month saw 11 athletes from the club compete with the quintet progressing to the next stage.
"While we were out at Tamworth the athletes that represented our town showed true sportsmanship, resilience and sheer determination," Ms Holbert said.
"We couldn't be more proud of each and every one of them. We wish those who progressed through to state the very best of luck."
Meanwhile, the under-13 to under-17 LANSW Youth State Championships are determined by direct entry.
"Our senior athletes have been very busy training to get their qualifiers time or distance to submit, but these athletes have to wait until February 28 to see if they were successful."
The championships will be held at Sydney Olympic Park on March 27-28.
